Tiny Tigers Club
Tiny Tigers Club is an adventure martial arts class aimed at boys & girls aged 5 -7. Children learn the basics of karate and self-defence whilst having fun with fitness games, competitions and mental challenges.
We have separate pricing for Tiny Tiger members. Lessons are currently charged at £3.50 per 1-hour lesson. Class size is capped at 15 so that students are closely supervised and safety is assured. In addition we have several instructors so that teaching is in small groups. There are two classes on Friday, 5:00 - 6:00pm and 6:00 - 7:00pm. Parents are welcome to watch all classes.
The Benefits Of Teaching Children Karate:
Physical Development
Karate is an enjoyable activity that gets children away from the television and computers and doing something more constructive whilst still having fun! Once children get use to doing exercise it can become a lifelong habit leading to a healthier and more productive life. The majority of high achievers are people who exercise regularly. Karate helps improve a child's co-ordination and flexibility. We are aware that a child's body is still growing, and ensure that there are no exercises that would be dangerous to their physical development.
Self-Discipline
Studies show that children willingly accept structure and respect discipline in teaching situations. Karate training provides reinforcement of the discipline that children receive in school and the home. The lessons are conducted in such a way that over a period of time children gain attributes such as patience and perseverance which is the basis for self-discipline.
Behavioural Issues
Karate is a great way to help your child build respect, both for themselves and for the people around them. Respect for one another, and themselves, is an important part of the martial art ethos. Students are encouraged to respect and look after each other, and they are encouraged to take responsibility for their actions, especially when training with a partner.
Enhancement Of Concentration
Concentration is a skill. Like any skill it improves with practice. By practicing this skill in the training hall it carries over into other aspects of a persons life so that children remain better focused in school and ultimately become better achievers.
Self-Confidence
To encourage and motivate the children we operate numerous positive reward measures, including a points system culminating in certificates. We also award certificates based on the acquisition of individual karate skills. In addition each lesson one child is awarded the 'Tiny Tiger' personal achievement award that they keep for a week before it is re-presented. By setting focused tasks and rewarding the achievement of these we allow children to build confidence and develop a positive self-image.
